- Total Vacancies: 365 across all RRBs.
- Pay Scale: Level 7 in the 7th CPC with an initial pay of ₹44,900.
- Age Limit: 20 to 40 years as of 01.01.2027. Candidates must not be born after 01.01.2007, and not earlier than 02.01.1987 for UR/EWS categories (with upper age relaxations applicable for SC/ST/OBC and other groups).

- Educational Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Certificate as a Registered Nurse and Midwife, having passed a 3-year course in General Nursing and Midwifery from an Indian Nursing Council-recognized school or institution, OR possess a B.Sc in Nursing. Concessions laid down by the Indian Nursing Council for Auxiliary Nurse Midwives, Midwives, and B grade Nurses (via reduced course periods) are also acceptable. Qualifications must be complete by the application closing date; candidates awaiting final results are not eligible.
- Medical Standard (C1): Candidates must be physically fit in all respects. Distance Vision must be 6/12, 6/18 with or without glasses. Near Vision must be Sn. 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required.
- Disability Suitability: The post is not suitable for visually or hearing-impaired candidates (VI, HI), nor those with multiple disabilities (MD). It is suitable for Locomotor Disability (LD) categories including One Leg (OL), Acid Attack Victim (AAV), Spinal Deformity (SD without neurological/limb dysfunction), and Spinal Injury (SI without neurological/limb dysfunction).
- Professional Syllabus: The 70-mark professional section covers Anatomy, Physiology, Nutrition, Biochemistry, Nursing Foundations, Psychology, Microbiology, Sociology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Genetics, Medical-Surgical Nursing (Adult including Geriatrics)-I, Community Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery and Obstetrical Nursing, Nursing Research & Statistics, and Management of Nursing Services and Education.
Key Application & Examination Instructions - Single Application Rule: Candidates can choose only one RRB and submit only one online application. Multiple applications will lead to absolute rejection and debarment from future RRB exams.
- Examination Fee & Refund: The standard fee is ₹500, with a ₹400 refund (minus bank charges) upon appearing for the Computer Based Test (CBT). SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minorities, and Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates pay ₹250, which is fully refunded upon attending the CBT.
- Computer Based Test (CBT) Structure: The exam features 100 objective multiple-choice questions to be completed in 90 minutes (120 minutes for candidates eligible for a scribe). The test breaks down into 70 questions on Professional Ability, 10 on General Awareness, 10 on General Arithmetic/Intelligence/Reasoning, and 10 on General Science.
- Negative Marking: There is a penalty of 1/3rd of the marks allotted to a question for every incorrect answer.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must score at least 40% (UR/EWS), 30% (OBC-NCL/SC), or 25% (ST) to qualify for Document Verification.
- Account Creation & Identity: Candidates must “Create an Account” on the official portal; details like email and mobile number cannot be changed later. A live photo capture is mandatory during the application process, and candidates must not wear glasses, caps, or masks while capturing the image. Authenticating identity via DigiLocker or Aadhaar is highly recommended for a smoother verification process.
- Banned Items: Electronic gadgets, mobile phones, calculators, health bands, pens, pencils, and open/packaged food are strictly prohibited inside the exam center. Pens are provided at the venue. Furthermore, candidates are advised not to apply Henna/Mehndi on their hands, as it disrupts biometric capture.
